MaMa Mia Burgers

Ingredients

1 pound ground chuck
1/2 pound ground mild Italian sausage
1/2 cup fresh bread crumbs
1/4 cup whole milk
1/2 cup freshly grated parmesan cheese
1 teaspoon dried basil
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon finely minced garlic
1 teaspoon salt
Vegetable oil for the grill
6 slices each, provolone and mozzerella
6 slices tomato
12 large fresh, whole basil leaves
6 ciabatta rolls
extra virgin olive oil and balsamic vinegar to drizzle

 

Instructions

Light grill, using a charcoal grill. In a small bowl combine bread crumbs with milk, set aside. In a large mixing bowl add the ground chuck,ground sausage,parmesan cheese,dried basil and oregano,garlic and salt. Now add the milk soaked bread crumbs to the meat mixture. By hand mix until well combined. Shape into 6, 6 ounce patties When coals are glowing and no longer flaming, wipe grill down with the vegetable oil. Carefully place your patties on the grill. Cook 4-6 minutes, then flip to other side. Add 1 slice of provolone and 1 slice mozzerella to each patty. Grill another 4 minutes or until burgers reach medium. Remove burgers to a plate, and keep warm. Slice open each ciabatta roll, and grill face down until lightly toasted. About a minute. Place 1 patty on each roll. Top each with a slice of tomato,2 basil leaves and a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil and balsamic. Enjoy!
