Little Italy

Hi my name is Nicole I am a Medical Receptionist , and in my spare time i love to cook any chance i get, making up recipes or just old family ones giving a little zip to them. I heard about this contest thruogh my EveryDAy with Rachel Ray magazine so i decided to enter.


2 Lbs of beef sirlion
3 cloves of garlic (minced)
1/4 cup of SutterHome White Zinfandel
1 tsp of dried ground rosemary
1 1/2 tsp of dried parsley (wet a little in palm of hand)
1 tsp of dried oregano
1 1/2 tsp of fresh chopped basil
1 tsp of onion powder
1 tsp of salt
9 turns of black pepper
6 slices of provalone cheese
6 slices of priscuotto
12 oz jar of marinated artichokes
lettuce ( green leaf) 1 head
3 tomatoes
6 buns - kaiser rolls
oil for greasing about 3 tbsp
For basil mayo


In a big bowl place meat, then minced garlic, wine, rosemary , parlsey, oregano , basil , onion powder, salt , pepper. Mix all ingredients make in to six same size patties. I am using a gas grill so turn on grill heat up on med- high for 5 minutes with top closed. Next take oil on a rag and lube up your grill put burgers on grill close top cook for 5 minutes flip burgers over for another 5 minutes place cheese cook till melted. Place on bun spread basil mayo on top of bun , take a slice of priscuotto on burger, lettuc , tomato, marinated artichoke hearts and serve mmm.
