Japanese Style Hibachi Burger with Ginger Sauce

Pairs well with:

Cabernet Sauvignon

This rich red easily complements your homemade chicken dishes, red meats, game, and mildly seasoned pastas.

My family’s favorite place to eat is a Japanese Restaurant with a Hibachi grill. It is entertaining for the kids and always delicious. So much fun, in fact, I thought I would incorporate the experience into a burger!

Ingredients:

2 lbs fresh ground beef
1 c prepared fried rice ( rice, 1 fried egg, 1 T peas, 1 T carrots, 1 T chopped onion)
2 T soy sauce
1/4 t salt
1/4 t pepper
1 large onion, sliced
1 large zucchinni, thinly sliced lengthwise
6 mushrooms, sliced
1 T olive oil
6 hamburger buns
3/4 c ginger dressing/sauce

Instructions:

In a large bowl, mix the ground beef, fried rice, soy sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix by hand until just combined and form into 6 medium size patties. Cook on hot grill for 3-4 minutes on each side. Meanwhile, wrap vegetable in foil with oil and cook on top rack of grill for 8-10 minutes until soft. Allow hamburgers to rest for 5 minutes. Place burger on bottom half of bun. Top burger with a slice of each vegetable and a heaping tablespoon of ginger sauce. Top with remaining bun and serve. Makes 6 Hibachi burgers.
