Merlot

Get cozy and get pouring. Our Merlot is the wine for long weekends and lengthy chats.

Ingredients

2 pounds ground chuck
3 tablespoons Gourmet Garden Basil Blend, if not available, use freshly chopped basil
1 tablespoon Colavita Extra Virgin Olive Oil
2 garlic cloves, minced or pressed
1 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons vegetable oil for brushing on grill rack
2 tablespoons sun-dried tomato vinaigrette dressing
2 tablespoons mayonnaise
2 garlic cloves, minced or pressed
1/2 teaspoon salt
3 cups pre-washed bagged fresh spinach, roughly torn
6 fresh hamburger buns, split

Instructions

Preheat a gas grill to medium-high.

Make the patties: Combine the ground chuck, basil, olive oil, garlic and salt, handling as little as possible. Divide into six equal portions and form into patties to fit the bun size. When grill is ready, rub the rack with vegetable oil. Place patties on rack, cover and cook until done to preference, about 5 to 7 minutes on each side, turning once. During the last minute of grilling, place the buns on rack, cut-side down to toast lightly.

In a medium bowl, whisk together the sun dried tomato vinaigrette dressing, basil, mayonnaise, garlic and salt. Add the spinach and toss until covered with dressing.

To assemble the burgers: Place a patty on each roll bottom, top with an equal portion of the spinach salad. Add the bun tops and serve.
