Hot HOT Mango Avocado Burger

This recipe brings the sweet and sassy flavors of Hot HOT Mango Relish together with the smooth savory flavors of the avocado. Together, this creation takes you back to the Islands or keeps your boots in the saddle of the Old West! So sit back, and enjoy the disticnt flavors that spam America's diverse history and emense culture!

Ingredients 

Hot HOT Mango Relish
1 Small Mango, peeled, seeded, cut into large chunks
1/4 red onion
5-10 dashed of Luisiana hot sauce
1 lime, juiced
2 TBSP packed brown sugar
1/4 tsp ground Jamaican Ginger
PATTIES:
2lbs 93% ground beef
1 tsp salt
3 TBSP Sutter Home Pinot Grigio
1/3 c brown sugar, packed
1 egg, beaten
2/3 c Hot HOT Mango Relish (see above)
Olive oil to brush grill
8 oz spray bottle, filled with Sutter Home Pinot Grigio
6 Whole Wheat Honey Hamburger buns
TOPPINGS: 
Zesty Honey Mustard
1 Beefsteak Tomato, thinly sliced
1 med Mango, peeled, seeded and thinly sliced
3 California Hass avocados, peeled, seeded and thinly sliced

Instructions 

FOR Hot HOT MANGO RELISH: In food processor, coarsely chop mango and red onion. Blend in Louisiana hot sauce, lime juice, brown sugar, and ground ginger during chopping process until well blended. Cover and chill until ready to use. FOR BURGER PATTIES: In meduim bowl break up hamburger meat until loose with a fork. Add salt, dry mustard, Pinot Grigio, rolled oats brown sugar, egg and mango relish. Thoroughly mix together and form into 6 patties. Brush grill rack with olive oil and cook patties over medium hot coals until cooked through, about 5 minutes on each side. Flip only once and spray edges of coals with Pinot Grigio once during th efinal minutes of cooking time. FOR BUNS: During the last 2 minutes of grilling patties, place buns over heat until lightly browned. Remove from direct heat and keep warm. TO ASSEMBLE BURGERS: Spread bottom of the bun with Zesty Honey Mustard and place patty on bun. Layer tomato, mango slices and avocado slices on top of the patty, add top bun. Serve with a Sutter Home Chardonnay or Merlot.

What was truly exciting about this recipe was to think about what food excited me most and how can I spruce up the "old family recipe" to make one of my own. This recipe has gone through changes and every place I love to travel is represented in this masterpiece I call my own!
