Hill Country Sandwich

Ingredients

1 Poblono Pepper
1/2 minced yellow onion
3 cloves minced garlic
1 1/2 lb Ground Chuck
salt and pepper to taste
1 Tsp Worcestershire
1 tb Hot Sauce
1 Egg
1/4 cup breadcrumbs
12 slices cooked bacon
6 slices Havarti Cheese
Hawaiian Sweet sandwich rolls
Ketchup
Mayonnaise
Butter

 

Instructions

Heat grill to med-high and roast poblano's over flame until each side is well blistered turning every few minutes. Remove poblanos from grill and let cool. Remove skin from the peppers, remove stem and seeds inside as well. Cut poblano into small dice. In a large mixing bowl combine poblanos, onions, garlic, ground chuck, salt and pepper to taste, worcestershire, hot sauce, egg, and breadcrumbs. Mix well and divide evenly into 6 patties. Place patties on grill and cook until desired temperature is almost reached. Butter each side of the Hawaiian rolls and place on the grill. Remove when the undersides become golden brown. Add 2 slices of cooked bacon and 1 slice Havarti cheese to each burger and close lid. Remove burgers when cheese has melted, place on sandwich buns, and top with special sauce. Serve immediately. Special Sauce: Combine equal parts mayo and ketchup in a small mixing bowl. Add a dash of hot sauce. Mix well. Color should be dark pink.
