Hawaiian Turkey Burgers

Ingredients

2 pounds ground turkey
8 ounces sliced deli ham – finely chopped
3 tablespoons teriyaki sauce
2 teaspoons salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Vegetable oil for grill
7 ounces gouda cheese – cut into slices
6 canned pineapple rings in heavy syrup
24 Hawaiian sweet bread rolls- you will need 4 that are stuck together to form a square for each burger – split in half

 

Instructions

In a bowl combine the ground turkey, ham, teriyaki sauce, salt and pepper. Mix well and form into 6 patties. Oil grill and place burgers on grill. Cook at med-high heat with the lid closed for 10 minutes then flip and cook for an additional 10 minutes or until internal temperatue reaches 165 degrees. Top each burger with a gouda slice and cook until cheese melts. When you place the cheese on the burgers also place the pineapple rings on the grill and heat. Place burgers and pineapple rings on sweet bread rolls.
