This burger was actually an idea come up with by my fiance. She loves Hawaiian pizza and wanted me to try putting those flavors into a burger...so here it is!
1. Approx. 3 lbs. hamburger meat
2. 1 pkg (8ox) diced ham
3. 1 can pineapple slices
4. 1 tbs salt
5. 1 tbs pepper
6. Teriyaki baste and glaze with honey and pineapple
8. Sesame Seed buns
1. Place all hamburger meat in large bowl 2. Add all diced ham to meat. Mix well with hands. 3. Add 1/4c pineapple juice from can, salt and pepper. Mix well with hands. 4. Form thin patties just larger than the palm of the hand. 5. Place 1 slice of pineapple on each patty. 6. Fill center of pineapple slice with Kikkoman Teriyaki baste. 7. Use remaining hamburger mixture to cover patties. Press edges to seal in pineapple. 8. Grill on charcoal grill for appr 45-60 minutes at about 200 degrees. Baste very well with Kikkoman Teriyaki on both sides of patties. 9. In last 5 minutes of grilling, place sesame seed buns on grill to lightly toast. 10. Spread mayonnaise on both sides of buns and place patties on buns. ALOHA
This burger went over VERY well with my critics. What I loved the most about it was that there is a slight flavor of ham in the meat; but when you reach the pineapple slice in the middle, it is sooo juicy and tastes absolutely amazing! I think my fiance has found a new Hawaiian favorite!
