GUADALAJARA BEEF BURGERS WITH TEQUILA-SPICED SALSA

Ingredients

1 1/2 pounds ground chuck
1/2 cup crushed baked tortilla chips
1/2 cup chopped green onions with tops
2 cloves minced garlic
1 teaspoon chipotle chile powder
1 teaspoon kosher salt
Red leaf lettuce
6 seeded sandwich rolls, split
TEQUILA SALSA
2 cups chopped seeded tomato
1 cup chopped onion
2 garlic cloves, minced
1/2 cup chopped fresh cilantro
1/3 cup chopped peeled avocado
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
2 teaspoons tequila

 

Instructions

TEQUILA SALSA Combine all ingredients in a bowl, tossing gently. Set aside. Makes 3 cups. BURGERS: Prepare grill and coat with no-stick grilling spray. In large bowl, combine all the burger ingredients except for the rolls and lettuce. Form into 6 patties and place on grill. Grill 5 minutes on each side our until done. During last minute of grilling, place rolls, cut sides down, on edges of grill to toast. Place burgers on bottom halves of rolls and top with a lettuce leaf and some Tequila Salsa.
