Ingredients

1/2 to 1 pound lean ground steak per person, depending on the size of burger they desire
2 to 3 slices provolone cheese, per burger
2 to 3 tablespoons mild, medium, or hot fresh New Mexico chopped green chili, per burger
1 large sesame seed hamburger bun, per burger
Salt and Pepper to taste

Instructions

1. Preheat the barbeque. 2. Put the ground steak in a bowl and add the salt and pepper to taste. 3. Depending upon how many burgers you are making, form the mixture into patties with your hands. 4. Cook the burgers over hot coals for 3 to 4 minutes on each side depending upon desired doneness. 5. While the burgers are cooking, briefly toast the hamburger buns, cut-side down. 6. When burgers are just about ready to come off the coals, top each one with the provolone cheese. Let cook until the cheese melts. 7. When the burgers are done, put the cooked burger on one half of the toasted bun, and put on the chopped green chili. Put on the other half of the toasted bun and serve immediately.
