Greek Feta Burger with Caramelized Onions

Ingredients

4+ Tablespoons Olive Oil, (divided use)
6 garlic cloves, minced (divided use)
3 Tablespoons Sutter Home Cabernet Sauvignon
2 teaspoons dried oregano, crushed
2 Tablespoons Dijon mustard
1 1/2 pounds of very lean ground beef
1/2 cup crumbled feta cheese
1 1/2 pounds onions, thinly sliced
1 Tablespoon brown sugar, packed
6 Kaiser rolls, split
Leaf Lettuce
Tomatoes, Sliced

 

Instructions

Toss 2 Tablespoons olive oil, 3 cloves minced garlic, Sutter Home Cabernet Sauvignon, dried oregano and Dijon mustard in large bowl, seasoning to taste with salt and pepper. Add ground beef and feta cheese; blend gently. Shape mixture into six 1/2 inch thick patties. Place patties on small baking sheet. Prepare barbecue (medium high heat). Toss onions and 2 Tablespoons olive oil, 3 cloves minced garlic and brown sugar in large skillet. Place skillet on grill; cook until onions are golden, stirring often, about 25 minutes. Remove from grill, season with salt and pepper. Brush grill rack with olive oil. Grill buns, cut side down, until golden, about 2 minutes. Tranfer buns to work surface. Grill burgers until brown on bottom, about 3 minutes. Turn over and grill until burgers are cooked to desired doneness, about 3 minutes for medium. Place lettuce leaf, then tomato slice on bottom bun, top with burger and then caramelized onions and finally the bun top.
