Gram Valente Burger

My name is Kirsti. I enjoy cooking, and trying new recipes. This hamburger was inspired by the flavors my grandmother used in a Italian stuffed pepper recipe. My family really enjoys these flavors, hope you do as well.


1/2 cup roasted red pepper and tomato bruschetta
2 anchovies fillets (finely mashed)
1/4 cup capers (drained)
3 large cloves of garlic (garlic press)
1/2 cup romano cheese grated
1 tablespoon dried oregeno (crushed between palms)
1 pinch red pepper flakes
2 1/2 lbs. ground beef 75% lean


In a large bowl, add bruschetta, anchovies, capers, 2 cloves of garlic (through the garlic press), 1/2 cup cheese, dried oregeno, and red pepper flakes. Mix well. Add ground beef, stir all until mixed well. Shape into 6 patties and grill over medium heat for 3-4 minutes per side until desired doneness. Toast rolls. When toasted remove from grill and rub last garlic clove over grilled bread. Put hamburgers on roll and serve.


My grandma never was able to taste this burger but I think she would have been proud.
