1 & 1/2 Teaspoons Dijon Mustard

1/8 Teaspoon Garlic Powder

3 Tablespoons Mayonnaise

1/2 Tablespoon Sutter Home Merlot Wine

1 Cup Finley Shredded Cheddar Cheese

2 pounds Ground Angus Beef Chuck

1 Tablespoon Vegetable Oil

6 High Quality Sesame Seeded Hamburger Buns, Split

6 Tablespoons Mayonnaise

1 Cup Fried Onions ( Fresh Gourmet Lightly Salted Crispy Onions, or French’s French Fried Onions)

18 slices kosher hamburger dills

6 (approximately1/4 inch thick) slices Vidalia or other sweet onion

6 (approximately 1/4 inch thick) slices of Large Vine Ripened Tomato

3 Cups Shredded Iceberg Lettuce

Instructions:

Combine in a large mixing bowl 4 teaspoons minced garlic, 6 tablespoons Sutter Home Merlot, 2 teaspoons salt, 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper and 3 tablespoons grated onion. Mix ingredients thoroughly and stir in dried apple. Set apple mixture aside to marinate at room temperature for approximately 15 minutes and prepare cheese topping. For topping, combine in small mixing bowl, minced jalapeno, 1 & 1/2 teaspoons Dijon mustard, 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder, 3 tablespoons mayonnaise and 1/2 tablespoon Sutter Home Merlot and then mix in shredded cheese. Refrigerate cheese topping until ready to top burgers. After apple mixture has marinated add ground beef to the apple mixture, mixing thoroughly. Form meat mixture into 6 patties about 3/4 inch thick and set aside, covered until grill is heated. Heat Gas Grill on high with lid closed until it reaches approximately 350 degrees. Brush grill grates lightly with vegetable oil and place beef patties on hot grill and cook on high with lid closed for 5 minutes. Turn patties and cook 4 more minutes with lid closed. Have cheese topping nearby and after the 4 minutes TURN OFF GAS GRILL and immediately top burgers with the cheese topping and close lid for 1 to 2 minutes or just until cheese melts and burgers are done. Remove burgers and place buns, cut side down on hot grill for approximately 1 minute or until warm and lightly browned.

To assemble burgers, spread cut sides of each bun with mayonnaise, place burger patty on bottom half of bun and lightly press 1/6 of the fried onions into the melted cheese of each burger. Top each burger with 3 pickle slices, 1 onion slice, 1 tomato slice and 1/2 cup shredded lettuce and top half of bun.
