Full-Filling Burgers

Ingredients 

1.5 lbs ground chuck
1 1/2 c. pesto sauce
3 egg whites
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. black pepper
2 c. tomato salsa
6 whole grain (or whole wheat) hamburger buns

Instructions 

Mix ground chuck with pesto sauce, salt, pepper, and egg whites (no need to beat them first ... keep it simple). Form into 6 patties and immerse in ice water for 10 minutes. Place on HOT grill for 4 to 8 minutes (depending on how well-done you like it); flip and grill another 3 to 6 minutes. Place on whole grain bun and spoon on 1/3 c. salsa.
