EL Cubanaso

Pairs well with:

White Merlot

Imagine sipping a lighter Merlot. This fresh, pale-pink wine is a nice change from traditional red or white wines.

Ingredients

2 pounds of ground pork
3/4 c. of Mojo
3 tbs. shredded onion
2 minced garlic cloves
6 french rolls
6 slices of Serano ham
6 slices of swiss cheese
mustard
12 pickles (the ones that look like little chips)
salt and pepper to taste
The juice from 1 lime
1 packet of Sazon
2 tsp. cumin
Vegetable oil for rubbing the rack

Instructions

Prepare a medium-hot fire in a charcoal grill with a cover, or preheat a gas grill to medium high. In a bowl combine the pork, Mojo, onion, garlic, sazon, cumin, salt and pepper. Combined ingredients together, I like to do it with my hands. Form into 6 equal patties and put a little indentation in the middle of the patties. Sometimes they like to bulge during cooking. Brush the grill rack with oil. Grill the patties with the grill top closed for 4 minutes. Turn and grill another 3 minutes. During the last 2 minutes of grilling the patties, place the rolls, cut side down, on the grill to toast. Also place the slices of ham on the grill for a few seconds on each side, just to give it a little color. Once thats done add a slice of ham to each patty (you might have to fold it in half to fit the patty) followed by adding the swiss cheese leave it on their a bit to melt the cheese. To assemble the burgers, first add the patty followed by some mustard (put as much as you like) and two slices of pickles. Then add the roll tops. Makes 6 burgers
