RECIPES: Recipe Details
These burgers are designed to mirror the delicious filling that I make for the inside of homemade Chinese dumplings.
1 1/2 pounds of ground pork
1 clove of fresh garlic, finely diced
2 green onions, finely chopped
1 Tablespoon of fresh ginger, finely grated
1 Tablesppon of soy sauce
1 Tablespoon rice vinegar
1 Tablespoon sesame oil
1 Tablespoon sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon pepper
1 teaspoon hot chilli oil
6 white hamburger buns
1/4 cup of dijon mustard
6 large leaves of napa cabbage, cut in half crosswise
In a large mixing bowl combine the pork, garlic, green onion, ginger, soy sauce, rice vinigar, sesame oil, sugar, salt, pepper and hot chilli oil. Set the electic grill at medium high. Form six patties from the meat mixture and place them on the center of the grill. Cook the patties for about four minutes per side or until internal temerature reaches 165 degrees. Remove patties to buns. Spread each bun top lightly with mustard. Place two pieces of napa on top of each patty. Serves six.
I love the way the flavors in these burgers combine to bring to mind my favorite Chinese dumplings. In fact, I wanted to call them "Chinese Dumpling Burgers," but my family agreed that Dragon Burgers seemed more exotic.
