Dakota Burger

This is a recipe i would grill for my family, and all our hired hands on our ranch in North Dakota in the summer time after a long day haying where we raised cattle, and grain, and horses. Now we live in the southeast, but i still make burgers on the grill alot, and invite people over to sit out on the deck, and enjoy a flavorable hamburger with good company, and a beautiful sunset. This is an easy recipe that has ingredients that everyone likes, and you can add so many different side dishes to go with it.Make the burgers ahead of time, let them sit in the refrigerator, and when you are ready put them on, and enjoy yourself.

2 lb.'s lean hamburger
one-half cup of mushroom & ripe olive spaghetti sauce.
three-fourths cup of instant oatmeal with brown sugar
one-half cup of finely chopped sweet onion.
2 beaten large eggs
one-fourth cup of red wine[your own preference]
one teaspoon salt
one teaspoon pepper
6 slices of provolone cheese.[1/2 ounce each]

Mix hamburger, spaghetti sauce, oatmeal, chopped onion, beaten eggs, red wine, salt, and pepper in large bowl. Fold cheese into fourths, and form patty around each cheese slice, making 6 large burgers.Take olive oil, and brush each side of burger, and Refrigerate for about a hour before placing on grill. Preheat gas grill, and spray grill with Pam or any other type of oil then grill on low heat till done to your desire. Only turning once. Medium burgers take about 6-7 minutes on each side. Serve on buns with with lettuce and tomatoes and with condiments available to your choosing such as mayonaise, mustard, etc.

This is a fun recipe and always turns out great. It is the kind of recipe that you don't have to go out and buy ingredients for that you would never use again. It is easy to grill for any age group and everyone loves a great hamburger!!!!
