Captain’s Choice Burger

This rich red easily complements your homemade chicken dishes, red meats, game, and mildly seasoned pastas.

Ingredients

SAUCE
1/2T Butter
1/2T Olive oil
2 Shallots (minced)
1can Cranberries
1c Dried Cranberries
1/2c Sutter Home Cabernet Wine
1/2c Chicken stock
2 Chipolte chiles in sauce(chopped)
1T Sage (minced)
Salt & fresh ground pepper
Beef Patties
3 lb Ground Beef
6 Kaiser Buns

 

Instructions

In large skillet melt butter & oil over medium heat. Saute shallots & garlic slightly add cranberries cook stirring for 30 seconds. Add wine continue cooking over high heat until about 1/2 of liquid remains. Add chicken stock, chipolte chiles & sage. cook over high heat until reduced about 1/2 and thickened. Remove from heat & set aside. Make ground beef into 6 patties & grill @ 4 1/2 to 5 min. on each side turning only once. Place burger on bun top with cranberry chipolte sauce. Serves 6
