This spin on the classic BLT adds beef for an extra B, and creamy California avocados instead of mayo.
6 thick-cut strips of bacon
1.5lbs. ground beef, at least 15% fat
Pepper to taste
3 ripe avocadoes, peeled and sliced
3 ripe tomatoes, sliced
6 large leaves of romaine lettuce
6 whole wheat hamburger buns, or round rolls
1.) Fry bacon slices to crisp and crumble into bits. 2.) Mix together ground beef, bacon bits, and salt and pepper to taste, and form into 6 quarter-pound patties, about 1/2" thick. 3.) Grill over medium-high heat to desired doneness, about 4 min. per side for medium well. 4.) Place one beef and bacon patty on each bun, top with slices of avocado, tomato, and lettuce, and enjoy!
You can salt your patties to taste, if you don't think the bacon will be salty enough. Make sure to slice avocados right before using them to avoid browning.
