Cabernet Sauvignon and Honey Burgers with a Cherry Vanilla Horseradish Mayonnaise

Hello, I have had a great time creating this burger. The cherry vanilla flavor in the mayonnaise brings out the flavor of the wine in the burger. Coupled with the sweetness of honey and the spice of horseradish, it is sure to make any mouth dance with joy.

Ingredients

Cherry Vanilla Horseradish Mayonnaise:
¾ cup mayonnaise
1 pound cherries, pitted and chopped
½ cup freshly grated horseradish
1 ½ teaspoons sugar
½ teaspoon vanilla
¼ teaspoon salt
Cabernet Sauvignon and Honey Burgers:
1 ¾ pounds ground chuck
1 ½ cups chopped green onions
½ cup honey
2 teaspoons salt
2 teaspoons pepper
¾ cup Sutter Home Cabernet Sauvignon
Vegetable oil, for brushing the grill rack
6 slices Muenster cheese
6 Kaiser rolls, split
6 tomato slices patted dry

Instructions

Directions Preheat a gas grill to medium-high. To make the Cherry Vanilla Horseradish Mayonnaise, combine the mayonnaise, cherries, horseradish, sugar, vanilla, and salt in a bowl. Stir to mix well. Cover and refrigerate. To make the Cabernet Sauvignon and Honey Burgers, combine the ground chuck, green onions, honey, salt, pepper and Cabernet Sauvignon in a bowl. Mix well. Divide the mixture into 6 equal portions and form patties to fit on the rolls. Brush the grill rack with oil. Place the patties on the rack, cover, and cook for 2 minutes. Flip the burgers over, cover, and cook for 2 more minutes. Flip the burgers over again, cover, and cook for 2 more minutes. Flip the burgers over one last time, cover, and cook for 2 minutes. During the last 30 seconds of cooking time, place a slice of cheese on top of each burger and cover grill. Toast the buns on the grill until lightly browned. To assemble the burgers, spread some of the Cherry Vanilla Horseradish Mayonnaise on the bun tops and bottoms. Add a slice of tomato to the bottom buns and place a hamburger patty on top of the tomato slices. Add the top buns and serve. Makes 6 burgers
