Cabernet Burger

This rich red easily complements your homemade chicken dishes, red meats, game, and mildly seasoned pastas.

Ingredients

1 1/2 lbs Black Angus Ground Beef
2 eggs
3/4 cup unseasoned bread crumbs
2 tablespoons finely chopped shallot
5 large fresh basil leaves fine chopped
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 crushed clove of garlic
1/3 cup freshed grated Parmesan Regganio cheese
1/4 cup fresh chopped parsley
1 teaspoon of Worchestershire sauce
3/4 Sutterhome Cabernet Sauvignon
7 teaspoon extra virgin olive oil
Toppings
Potato Hambuger Roll
1 large red onion
1/4 teaspoon grey poupon mustard for each burger
Bunch of Baby greens
oil for grill

 

Instructions

Place ground beef into a mixing bowl. Mix eggs in a separate bowl and add to beef. Turn on Broiler, set shelf six inches away. Add next 11 ingredients to beef and egg mixture and mix well. Add 1 teaspoon of extra virgin oil to mixture. Let sit for 15 minutes at room temperature. Make into six patties about 3/4 inch thick. slice red onions and carmelize in olive oil. Place burgers on a broiler safe pan. Cook for 3 minutes per side. Transfer burgers to a warmed dish and pour juice from broiler pan over burgers, remaining 6 teaspoons of olive oil and let sit for 5 minutes. Toast buns, place burger on each bun and pour juice over each burger. Top each burger, with carmelized onions, baby greens and grey poupon mustard.
