These succulent burgers are infused with all the necessary ingredients of a first class Beef Bourgeneon, in a fraction of the time! These burgers are truly gourmet tasting; but not so exotic that your kids won't love them!!!
1 pound of ground chuck
1/3 cup red wine, (i.e. cabernet or pinot noir)
1 teaspoon sea salt
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
1 16oz canned mushrooms stems and pieces.
1 small onion, chopped
1 tablespoon olive oil
Mix the ground chuck with the red wine, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, thyme, and mushrooms. Form into four patties. Grill burgers, until medium. In a pan, sautee the onion in the olive oil. When onion becomes caramelized, reduce heat to low. Grill buns until grill marks appear on bread. Place burgers on buns, topping with onions. Serve with condements of your choice.
A great topping to this burger is a red wine infused mayonaise. To 1/2 cup Mayo, add 1 Tablspoon red wine, and 1 teaspoon dijon mustard. A very unique topping for the Burgundy Burgers!!! If you are in a big fat hurry, and don't have time to sautee the onion, you can use those horribly fattening, but really tasty French fried onions in the can!!!!!!
