Burger Blues

Ingredients

Sauce:
1 bottle quality refrigerated blue cheese dressing (usually 13 ounces )
1/2 cup fresh chopped chives
Patties:
1 1/2 pounds ground beef
1/4 cup chilli sauce
1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
1 teaspoon salt
Vegetable oil for brushing grill rack
6 kaiser rolls, split
6 slices cheddar cheese
6 tablespoons barbeque sauce
1 small can onion ring pieces

 

Instructions

Prepare a medium-hot fire in a charcoal grill with a cover, or preheat a gas grill to medium-high. To make the sauce, combine bue cheese dressing with the chives. To make the patties, combine the beef, chilli sauce, olive oil and salt. Mix well and divide into 6 equal portions and form into patties to fit the rolls. When the grill is ready, brush the rack with vegetable. Place the patties on the rack, cover, and cook turning once, for about 5 minutes on each side. During the last few minutes of cooking, place a slice of cheese on each patty followed by a tablespoon of barbeque sauce followed by equal portions of onion rings on top of each pattie. Replace the grill cover and cook additional 2 minutes. Remove patties from grill. Place kaiser rolls, cut side down on grill to lightly toast. To assemble the burgers, on each roll bottom, place a patty. Spread a generous amount of blue cheese sauce to each roll top and place on patty and serve.
