Bryan's Hickory Bacon Cheddar Burger

When I was a kid growing up, I would always order Bacon Cheeseburgers. They never were quite tasty enough for me. I had to improve on them. I tried a few different ingredients and finally came up with what I thought was a great taste combination. What flavors go better together than a nice sharp cheddar, bacon and a sweet hickory bbq sauce?

1 lb lean ground beef
1 large egg
3/4 cup of chopped cooked bacon
1 cup of shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1/2 cup Hickory Smoke BBQ sauce
1 tbsp Italian Seasoning
4 Kaiser Rolls
1 Tomato
1/4 head of lettuce
1 small red onion

In a large mixing bowl, combine the beef, egg, bacon, cheddar cheese, half of the bbq sauce and italian seasoning. Mix until well blended. Divide into 4 equal size patties. Place on a pre-heated grill. Cook approx 5 minutes on each side or until desired done'ness. Split the Kaiser rolls and place burger on bottom portion of the bun. Top with lettuce, tomato and sliced onion. (Extra BBQ Sauce if desired) ENJOY!

This burger is great for an everyday cookout or even for a quick dinner during the week.
