Pairs well with:

Moscato

Paired or alone, there's something magical about this creamy wine that nods to yummy peaches and sinful delights.

Ingredients:

1/2 cup Colavita Olive Oil for brushing grill

Spicy Italian Sauce:
3 tablespoons Sutter Home Moscato Wine
6 tablespoons Italian Dressing
3 tablespoons Tomato Paste
1 teaspoon garlic salt
1 teaspoon onion salt
1 teaspoon oregano
1 teaspoon basil

Burgers:
2 pounds ground chuck hamburger
1 egg
1 teaspoon celery salt
6 tablespoons Spicy Italian Sauce (from above)
6 slices Mozzarella Cheese
1 teaspoon basil
1 teaspoon oregano
6 crusty Italian buns sliced
1 cup finely chopped tomatoes

Instructions:

Preheat a gas grill to medium high heat and grease grill 5 minutes before ready to cook with most of Colavita Olive oil, saving some to brush buns with later.

To make the sauce, in a one quart saucepan mix wine, Italian Dresing, tomato paste, garlic salt, onion salt, oregano, and basil, and mix well. Set aside for later use.

Patties:
In a large bowl combine hamburger, egg, celery salt, 6 tablespoons Spicy Italian Sauce (saving rest for later), and mix well with hands handling as little as possible. Form into 6 patties and place on preheated grill. Cook covered on each side 4-6 minutes until done. While burgers cooking place saucepan on grill and cook sauce until almost reaches a boil, stirring occasionally. When burgers are almost done place cheese slices onto each patty and cook about 1-2 minutes until cheese slightly melted. While cheese melting sprinkle basil and oregano over cheese. Lightly brush bread with olive oil and place bread on grill for about 1-2 minutes or until lightly toasted. Place patties on bread and sprinkle tomato evenly over burgers. Spoon Spicy Italian Sauce on other slice of bread and place on top of burger. Yields 6 servings.
