Bob's Favorite Greek Feta-licious Burger
I made this burger for my boyfriend (now fiancee) one nite and he got down underneath the dining table and kissed my feet! It is one of the most simple and highly flavorful burgers I have ever tasted.
2 pounds ground beef (do not use lean)
1 cup finely chopped fresh spinach
1/2 cup of finely chopped tomato
1/2 cup crumbled feta cheese
3 teaspoons chopped fresh dill
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon pepper
1 avocado, sliced
1 tomato, sliced
1 red onion, sliced
few leaves of romaine or bibb lettuce
burger buns or toasted rye bread of your choice
1. Mix ground beef, spinach, tomato, feta, dill, salt and pepper in a bowl. Form into decent-sized patties. 2. Grill or fry burgers over medium-high heat for 6 minutes on each side or until preferred doneness is achieved. 3. Assemble burgers onto bun or rye bread. Top buger with avocado, tomato, red onions and lettuce.
This burger is so juicy with the tomatoes and feta inside you don't need ketchup. But you can use it if you prefer. I also make these burgers without the bun/rye bread and just eat them as is off the grill. They are so juicy and tasty without the toppings you will enjoy them in their simplicity as well.
