Bloody Mary Burger

A juicy burger seasoned just like a Bloody Mary, topped with horseradish-cheddar cheese, tomato, and lettuce, served on a toasted Kaised roll.


2 pounds 80% lean ground beef
5 tablespoons tomato paste
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon hot sauce
1 teaspoon garlic salt
1 teaspoon celery salt
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
Vegetable oil, for brushing on the grill rack
6 (1-ounce) slices horseradish-cheddar cheese
6 (4 1/2-inch) soft Kaiser rolls, split
6 (1/4-inch-thick) large tomato slices
6 romaine lettuce leaves


Preheat a gas grill to medium-high To make the burgers, combine ground beef, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce, garlic salt, celery salt, onion powder, black pepper, and Old Bay seasoning in a large bowl. Mix ingredients just until well incorperated. Divide the mixture int 6 equal portions. Form the portions into patties to fit the rolls. When the grill is ready, brush the grill rack with vegetable oil. Place patties on the rack, cover and cook, turning once until done preference, 5-7 minutes on each side for medium. During the last 1-2 minutes of grilling the burger patties, place one slice of the horseradish-cheddar cheese on top of each one of the burgers. Place the rolls, cut side down, on the outer edges of the grilling rack to toast lightly. When the burgers are cooked and the cheese is melted, remove from the grill. To assemble, on each roll bottom, place a burger, tomato slice, and a lettuce leaf. Add the roll tops and serve. Makes 6 burgers
