Big Island Burgers with mango mayo spread

Hard to pronounce yet easy to drink, this wine combines lychee fruit and white peach flavors with a hint of spice.

Ingredients

1 cup real mayonnaise
1/2 cup mango preserves
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 pounds ground chuck
1 7-ounce can of spam chopped fine
1/2 cup fresh bread crumbs
1 egg
2 tablespoons teriyaki sauce
1/2 tablespoon grated fresh ginger root
1 teaspoon khoser salt
vegetable oil for brushing grill
6 slices pineapple rings
1 large green bellpepper sliced into 6 rings
1 medium red onion sliced into 6 rings
6 kaiser rolls split
3 cups loosely packe alfalfa sprouts

 

Instructions

prepare charcoal grill with a lid to medium hot heat,or preheat gas grill to medium high. In a medium bowl add mayonnaise,mango preserves and salt. Mix well,cover and refrigerate until ready to use. In a large bowl combine ground chuck,chopped spam,bread crumbs,egg,teriyaki sauce,ginger root and salt. Mix until well combined. Shape into 6 patties. When grill is ready, brush grates with some vegetable oil. Place patties onto grill over direct heat. Cover and grill 4 minutes. After 4 minutes, remove lid and flip patties and grill another 4-5 minutes or until medium doneness. During this time, place pineapple rings,bellpepper rings and onion slices around the sides of the patties. Grill two minutes, then turn over and grill two more minutes. During the last minute, place kaiser rolls,cut side down around the outer edges of the grates and grill until lightly toasted. To assemble: Spread each cut side of the kaiser rolls with some of the mango mayo. Place one patty on each bottom half of rolls, top each patty with one pineapple ring,one bellpepper ring,red onion slice and about 1/2 cup alfalfa sprouts. Top with the other half of the roll. Enjoy!
