Betsy Ross Boat Burgers

Reach for our Chardonnay when you’re in the mood for a rich and creamy wine that delights with the fruity flair of pear, apple, and peach.

Ingredients:

2 teaspoons kosher salt
2 teaspoons chili powder
1 teaspoon cumin
1/4 cup grated parmesan
2 teaspoons minced garlic
2 teaspoons olive oil
2 teaspoons worcestershire sauce
2 teaspoons lemon juice
1/2 cup Chardonnay
1 medium green pepper finely chopped
1 medium onion finely chopped
3 slices whole wheat bread cut into small pieces or 1 cup bread crumbs
1 egg
2 lbs ground beef

6 large seeded buns, split
6 leaf lettuce leaves
6 (1/4-inch-thick) large tomato slices

Instructions:

Prepare a medium-hot fire in weber charcoal grill or preheat a gas grill to medium-high.

Put all ingredients (except beef, buns, lettuce, tomatos, potato chips) in large bowl. Stir to mix well. Add beef and knead carefully to incorporate.
Divide the mixture into 6 equal portions and form the portions into patties.

When the grill is ready, place the patties on the rack, cover, and cook, turning once, until done to preference, 5 to 7 minutes on each side for medium. During the last few minutes of cooking, place the rolls, cut side down, on the outer edges of the rack to toast lightly.

On each roll bottom, place a lettuce leaf, a patty, a tomato slice. Add the roll tops and serve with potato chips.
