Best Brunch Burgers

When it's not quite breakfast, but not quite lunch, these alternative burgers are sure to fit the bill!

Ingredients 

1/2 cup of yellow raisins
1 cup of dry sparkling wine
1 cup plain yogurt
2/3 cup of maple syrup
3 large granny smith apples
½ fresh lemon Vegetable oil, for brushing on the grill rack
1 ½ pounds of ground turkey
¼ cup frozen orange juice concentrate
½ cup quick cook oatmeal
1 ½ teaspoon of salt
12 frozen waffles

Instructions 

Preheat gas grill to medium-high, or prepare charcoal fire to medium-hot. In a small bowl, combine ¼ cup of yellow raisins with ½ cup of dry sparkling wine. Set aside Mix 1 cup of plain yogurt with ¼ cup of the maple syrup. Set leftover syrup aside. Refrigerate mixture until final assembly. Core 3 large granny smith apples and slice into ¼ inch slices, disposing of top and bottom slices. Place in a shallow dish and coat with juice of ½ lemon to prevent browning . Set aside. To make patties, combine turkey, ¼ cup of thawed frozen orange juice concentrate, ½ cup quick cook oatmeal, and salt. Drain raisins and add raisins to mixture. Form 6 equal sized patties. Brush the grill rack with vegetable oil when grill is prepared. Place the patties on the oiled rack, cover and cook, 4 minutes before flipping. After flipping, add apple slices to grill. Recover Grill. After 4 minutes, turn apples over. Brush newly turned sides of the apples with left-over maple syrup. At this time, add frozen waffles on the outer edge of the uncovered grill and cook until bottom is golden toasted. Turn waffles over and repeat. To assemble burgers, place one waffle on the plate and place a burger on top of that waffle. Drizzle with 1 tablespoons of yogurt mix. Follow with one slice of grilled granny smith apple. Top another waffle with 2 tablespoons of yogurt mix and place yogurt side down on top.
