Best Beef Burger Ever

Ingredients 

2 lbs. Ground Chuck
1 small red onion thinly sliced
4 tablespoons of Sutter Home Merlot wine plus 2 tablespoons
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 teaspoons kosher salt
6 slices of smoked gouda cheese
6 tablespoons butter softened
6 Kaiser rolls

Instructions 

1. Combine ground chuck with 4 tablespoons sutters Home Merlot wine and form into 6 patties
season both sides of patties with kosher salt
cook patties in cast iron skillet about 5 minutes on each side
2. While patties are cooking place oilve oil in saute pan and add red onion and remaining 2 tablespoons of wine until liquid is absorbed and onions are carmelized.
3. Spread softened butter on both sides of kaiser buns and place in fry pan until golden brown
4. In last 2 minutes of cooking burgers place slices of gouda cheese and allow to melt
5. Assemble burgers, place burger on top of bun and top with onions
