Beef Burgandy Burger

This rich red easily complements your homemade chicken dishes, red meats, game, and mildly seasoned pastas.

Ingredients

1 1/2 pound of ground beef
1 small pack of onion soup mix
1/2 cup finely chopped carrots
1 garlic clove finely chopped
1/4 tsp black pepper
1/4 tsp salt
1 egg
1/4 lb of sliced mushrooms
1 cup burgandy wine
1 cube bouillon crushed
2 tbsp cornstarch
4 sour dough buns or 8 slices of french bread
4 slices of swiss cheese

 

Instructions

1) In a large mixing bowl combine ground beef, onion soup mix, carrots, garlic, black pepper, salt and egg. Mix thouroughly. 2) Form into 4 equally sized patties. 3) Place on grill for 4 to 6 minutes on each side. 4) Mean while, In a small mixing bowl combine wine, bouillon cube, mushrooms. Toss together until bouillon is dissolved. Thicken with corn starch( mix cornstarch with 2 tbsp cold water before adding to ingredients). Place in foil or heat safe container with lid onto grill. 5) Open bun and brush with olive oil then place inside down on grill to toast lightly. Remove from heat quickly. 6) Place 1 slice of swiss cheese on bun, followed by burger patty, then topped with mushroom sauce. 7) Slice in halves and serve.
