Bama Barbeque Slaw Burger

Pairs well with:

White Merlot

Imagine sipping a lighter Merlot. This fresh, pale-pink wine is a nice change from traditional red or white wines.

Ingredients

1.5 lbs fresh ground chuck beef
1 whole egg
8 oz can tomato sauce
2 tbs worchester shire sauce
2 tbs vinegar, cider
2 tsp paprika
2 tsp ground mustard
1 tsp ground red pepper
1 tsp granulated garlic
1 tsp ground onion
2 fresh lemons, strained juice 
2 tbs olive oil, extra virgin
Cracked wheat buns
2 cups angel hair slaw 
1/3 cup Homestyle Dressing
Sliced dill pickles

 

Instructions

This recipe involves making a fresh homemade BBQ sauce which is to be added to the gound chuck beef and as a condiment so it will be made first. Empty an 8 oz can of tomato sauce into a glass bowl. Add 2 tbs of Worchesterhire sauce and mix. Add 2 tbs of cider vinegar and mix. Add 2 tsp of ground paparika and mix. Add 2 tsp of ground mustard and mix. Add 1 tsp ground red pepper and mix. Add 1 tsp granulated garlic and mix. Add 1 tsp of ground onion and mix. Squeeze the juice of two fresh lemons into a cup and strain. Add and mix well. Add 2 tbs extra virgin olive oil. Mix BBQ suace ingredients well and set to side. Place 1.5lb of gound chuck beef in bowl. Add I whole egg and mix well. Add 1/3 cup of BBQ sauce to beef and mix well. Form into six appx. equal size patties. Cover and place in refig until raedy to grill. Start with clean gas grill. remove rack and spray both sides well with olive oil spray. Set aside. Light grill and set at high temp for three minutes with lid closed. While grill is heating you cam prepare the slaw. Take two cups of shredded angel hair slaw, place in bowl add 1/3 cup of Dorothy Lynch Homestyle Dressing and mix well. Cover. When grill is ready add rack and place burgers on for 2 minutes at high temp with lid down. Then lower temp to medium to low medium. Place glass bowl of homemade BBQ sauce to side of rack to warm. Close lid and cook burgers 2 to 3 minutes the flip and cook on other side 2 to 3 minutes until internal meat reaches 160 degrees plus. Remove warm bowl of BBQ sauce and burgers. Serve on room temp fresh cracked wheat bun. Place burger on bun, add pickles, warmed BBQ sace, prepared slaw and bun top.
