A Burger To Remember Zesty Garlic Shrimp Salsa Burgers

Ingredients

1/4 cup cream cheese softened
1/2 cup thick and chunky salsa (1/4 cup for burger ingredients and 1/4 cup for condiment use later)
1 tablespoon Sutter Home White Zinfandel Wine
1/4 cup chopped black olives
1/4 cup chopped green onions
1/4 cup mashed Avocado
1 teaspoon garlic salt
1/4 cup shredded Mozzarella Cheese
2 pounds ground chuck hamburger
1/4 cup ready to eat shrimp deveined, peeled, and chopped
3 tablespoons vegetable oil for greasing grill rack
6 slices Mozzarella Cheese
3 tablespoons Extra Virgin Olive Oil
6 soft Kaiser rolls

 

Instructions

1. Preheat gas grill to medium high heat. 2. In large mixing bowl combine, cream cheese,1/4 cup salsa (save rest of salsa for condiment use), wine, black olives, green onions, Avocado, salt, shredded cheese, and mix well with a fork. 3. Blend in hamburger and shrimp, only handling hamburger as much as necessary. 4. Form into 6 patties. 5. Grease grill rack by brushing vegetable oil over grill rack. 6. Place patties one inch apart and cook 6-8 minutes on first side or until browned. 7. Flip burgers with a spatula and cook an additional 5-7 minutes or until internal temperature reaches 160 degrees farenheit or until burgers thoroughly browned. 8. Place Mozzarella slices over each patty and cover with lid and cook an additional minute or until cheese melted. 9. Brush olive oil over each Kaiser roll half and brown lightly approximately 30-60 seconds. 10. Serve burgers over open faced Kaiser rolls and dollop remaining salsa evenly over each burger. Makes 6 burgers.
