Juicy Teriyaki Burgers

2 lbs. 90% lean ground beef
4 tbsp. real mayonnaise
4 tbsp. brown sugar
4 tbsp. soy sauce
2 tsp. red pepper flakes
1/2 tsp. black pepper
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
4 tbsp. pineapple juice from rings
1/2 cup fine breadcrumbs
2 eggs, beaten
8 pineapple rings, reserve juice
8 honey wheat buns, lightly toasted


Preheat barbecue grill. Mix beef, mayonnaise, brown sugar, soy sauce, red pepper flakes, black pepper, garlic powder, pineapple juice, bread crumbs and beaten egg. Mix until very well blended. Form into 8 patties. Grill over high heat until desired degree of doneness. Add pineapple rings to grill, cooking for a few minutes until warm and caramelized. Place buns on grill to toast. Place burger on bun base, top with pineapple ring.
