Jerk Burger

This burger the All-American burger in that it combines classic American cuisine (hamburger) with Caribbean spices. There is a growing Caribbean community in Arizona.

Ingredients:

24 ounces extra lean hamburger (about 85 percent lean)

3 tbs chipotle raspberry barbecue sauce

2 tbs jerk seasoning

2 tsp cinnamon

1/2 cup minced onion

2 cloves garlic (grated)

2 tsp salt

1 tbs lemon juice

Six hamburger buns

Instructions:

Combine barbecue sauce and spices with hamburger, add lemon juice to mixture. Mix well with hands, but no longer than necessary to evenly distribute the ingredients. Divide meat into six patties. Cook over hot coals until done medium well (about three minutes on each side).

Serve burgers plain on lightly toasted buns.
