Full-Filling Burgers

Wine Varietal: Cabernet Sauvignon

Ingredients:

1.5 lbs ground chuck
1 1/2 c. pesto sauce
3 egg whites
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. black pepper
2 c. tomato salsa
6 whole grain (or whole wheat) hamburger buns

Instructions:

Mix ground chuck with pesto sauce, salt, pepper, and egg whites (no need to beat them first … keep it simple). Form into 6 patties and immerse in ice water for 10 minutes. Place on HOT grill for 4 to 8 minutes (depending on how well-done you like it); flip and grill another 3 to 6 minutes. Place on whole grain bun and spoon on 1/3 c. salsa.
