Apples are a beloved staple in the Midwest. It may be too cold to grow mangoes or pineapples; but boy do we have lots of varieties of apples, and we love to cook with them.
Growing up on our weekend farm I experienced the joy of a garden full of fresh vegetables. There is nothing like eating tender corn on the cob, green onions, and fresh jalapeños.
