Sutter Home Wine & Food Pairing Series: Pink Moscato Tailgating Edition

This month, we've tailored our Sutter Home Wine & Food Pairing Series not just to tailgating, but to Sutter Home for Hope too! We're pairing all pink wines through the end of October.

Keep this in mind: When you have friends over for game day, be sure you save those capsules! Put a jar out and as soon as you remove the capsule/screw cap, drop it into the jar! For information on where to send the capsules and more ideas for game day, visit our website.

Now, on to the pairings!

This week's featured wine is Sutter Home Pink Moscato. This sweet pink wine pairs perfectly with tortilla chips with sweet corn salsa, zesty lamb shanks, chicken raspberry paninis, apricot stuffed steak, grilled crab cakes, spicy pork kabobs, three cheese pizza with red pepper flakes, grilled peppers and blueberry cobbler.

BBQ tip: Want to get the perfect amount of smokiness in your meat? Try adding wood chips to the grill! Some of the best kinds of wood for BBQing are hickory, oak, mesquite, maple, and fruit tree wood. Be sure to do some experimenting to discover which adds your favorite flavors!

There hasn't been much updates about BBAB this year. Are they going to be any this week or in the near future (before October 22nd?)

Last year there were updates via Facebook that kept the entrants informed and excited; but not so much this year...

We changed up the program this year! The contest portion ran from Memorial Day to Labor Day. We're going dark with Build a Better Burger from now until January and then we'll pick it up again! The finalists will be announced in early 2013 and the cookoff will be in mid-May, just in time to kick off BBB 2013!

Hi Dahn! Here is the excerpt from the Build a Better Burger rules:
1. Ten (10) contestants, five (5) from each category [“Potential Finalist(s)”], will be selected by the Preliminary Judging Panel to be considered to compete in the National Cook-Off Finals in Napa Valley, California on May 18, 2013 (“Cook-Off Finals”).
2. Potential Finalists will be notified on or about October 22, 2012 regarding their eligibility to compete in the Cook-Off Finals. Potential Finalists will be required to complete and return by 5:00 PM (PST) on November 5, 2012, an Affidavit of Eligibility (“Affidavit”).
