Sutter Home Wine Cocktail: Girls' Night In

| Posted by Megan for Sutter Home

If making cocktails is at all intimidating for you, don't let it be! We have some simple tips for making your first wine cocktail.

(Scroll down for the Girls' Night In wine cocktail! For additional wine cocktail recipes, click here.)

1. While a set of bar tools is nice, you can use items from your kitchen to get started. Grab a pint glass (or large drinking glass), a spoon with a long handle (or even a butter knife!), and your favorite cocktail glasses or wine glasses.

2. Always have a bit more ice on hand than you think you need. You'll need the ice to shake cocktails with as well as add to drinks. If you're feeling adventurous, fire up the blender - you'll need lots of ice for that!

3. Important tip - which may be stating the obvious but we did it, so we should mention it! - don't shake bubbly liquids. If the recipe calls for Bubbly Moscato or bubbly juices, add them after you shake up all of the other ingredients. Though it will cause some laughter if you forget...

4. Test fun flavors! You never know what will be good (or not good) together unless you try!

5. We've mentioned this before, but it's worth mentioning again: use 187ml mini bottles! Most of our great wines come in this smaller size - perfect when you only need a few ounces to try a cocktail recipe. Our bubbles - Bubbly Moscato & Pink Bubbly Moscato - only come in 750ml size, but the good thing about that is - they're great all by themselves!

Can you make this recipe by the pitcher full rather than glass by glass?

Submitted by Megan on

Yes! If you want to make it by the pitcher, follow this recipe:

-One 1.5L of Sutter Home Moscato
-16 oz. of vanilla vodka
-16 oz of strawberry soda (use strawberry lemonade for a more tart cocktail)
-Ice

It will be easier to combine all ingredients in the pitcher with ice, and stir with a wooden spoon. You could even add sliced strawberries to the pitcher to make it even more beautiful!

@LeeAnn - Welcome!! We hope you & the girls love this recipe. We have gotten some great suggestions from our Pinterest followers too in case our version is too sweet - use strawberry lemonade or regular lemonade instead of strawberry soda. Enjoy!
