Entertaining Tips

Brunch is one of the best meals to host at your home because the menu options are limitless. When hosting a brunch (the combination of br-eakfast and l-unch) you can pick your favorite dishes that will fill the home with the most enticing aromas. It’s often best to have a balance of sweet and savory dishes.  Dishes can include cornbread (a delicious one included as this month’s recipe), omelets, sausage, fresh fruit, quiche, ham, ceviche and fruity cocktails.

As spring approaches, utilize outdoor dining and bring the spring flowers to the dining table. The trick to hosting a successful brunch is to prepare a majority of the food the night before. Brunch guests often arrive between 10 and 11 a.m. which doesn’t leave you much time to prepare. Chopping, slicing, baking, marinating, grinding, and other culinary steps can take place the night before the brunch.  Keep the brunch day as simple as possible so that you too can enjoy a leisurely meal.
